Master Renzo Gracie Visits Art of War Jiu Jitsu Training Center

Probably one of the most prolific Jiu Jitsu practioners and MMA fighters of all time, Master Renzo Gracie, yes THE Renzo Gracie stopped into the Official Art of War Jiu Jitsu training center (BEIJING JIU JITSU ACADEMY) to visit with and endow their aspiring Jiu Jitsu players with some of his knowledge. Master Renzo demonstrated some very effective chokes and positions while observing and correcting the mistakes of some students. The students were very excited to see Master Renzo in person because until then they’ve only had the opportunity to see him on television when he was actively competing in world class MMA organizations such as Pride Fighting Championship and the IFL. As a member of the legendary Gracie family, Master Renzo has dozens of victories in “no holds barred” competitions to his credit over veteran names such as Maurice Smith, Oleg Taktarov and Frank Shamrock just to name a few. “Since Master Renzo’s first visit ever to China was to participate in Art of War, the staff of AOW and my brother Andy and I are very honored to be the ones hosting him,” said Konrad Pi, President of AOW. When asked when the Gracie family will open their first official Gracie Jiu Jitsu Academy in China, Master Renzo said this was something they have been considering for a long time. Master Renzo is now the 2nd Gracie family black belt, after Rickson Gracie, to visit the Beijing Jiu Jitsu Academy. Renzo Gracie will be back in China on July 18th 2009 for Art of War 13 RISING FORCE, to coach some Gracie family members making their MMA debuts in China. Stay tuned for more action!

Master Rickson Gracie instructs the students of the Beijing Jiu Jitsu Academy (Official Art of War Training Center) at their original location at the National Olympic Center. This was Master Rickson’s first of two visits to China, and both were to participate in Art of War Fighting Championship events. Master Rickson is a legendary MMA fighter with purportedly 400 "no holds barred, bear knuckle" competitions to his name.
